A Message from Dax Dasilva

Four years after our initial commitment to urgent, on-the-ground conservation, our mission has grown into a global movement rooted in action, storytelling, and deep collaboration. Together with our partners, we have helped protect more than 2.4 million acres of critical habitat, supported Indigenous-led conservation, and brought frontline stories to audiences around the world through film, art, and immersive experiences.

This year, our work reached new milestones. We celebrated the world premiere of YANUNI, a powerful documentary following Chief Juma Xipaia’s fight to protect her people and the Brazilian Amazon. We launched Echoes from Eden, my second book and a deeply personal journey through some of the world’s most endangered ecosystems.

We expanded our storytelling through On the Frontline, returned with Season 2 of The Black Hole Experience, and entered a landmark partnership with Re:wild to scale conservation impact globally.

The late Dr. Jane Goodall taught us that hope only becomes meaningful when it is paired with action.

That lesson continues to guide everything we do at Age of Union. Our work is not only to protect ecosystems, but to uplift the people defending them, amplify their stories, and remind the world that real change is possible when we act together.

As we look ahead, I remain inspired by the courage of our partners and optimistic about what collective action can achieve. The future of our planet depends on the choices we make now, and Age of Union will continue to stand with the changemakers protecting life on Earth.

Age of Union is a non-profit organization committed to uniting humanity with nature.

Union, as envisioned by Age of Union, serves as a guiding philosophy that underscores the profound connections between individuals and the natural world.

At its essence, it reveals that all living beings and ecosystems, from the vast reaches of space and the cosmos to the depths of the ocean and everything in between, are intricately linked and reliant on one another for existence, harmony, and balance.

A New Partnership with Re:wild

In 2025, Age of Union announced a strategic partnership with Re:wild to help scale global conservation efforts and strengthen support for threatened ecosystems around the world. The partnership brings together Re:wild’s scientific expertise, global conservation network, and experience working with local partners, alongside Age of Union’s commitment to direct action, storytelling, art, film, and public engagement.

As part of the partnership, Age of Union’s existing conservation projects will move under Re:wild’s management, helping increase oversight, efficiency, and long-term impact across key initiatives.

The first major initiative under this partnership is a USD $1 million commitment over five years to support biodiversity protection in Madagascar, one of the world’s most biodiverse and threatened ecosystems.

This partnership marks an important step in Age of Union’s evolution: expanding its role as a funder, storyteller, and advocate while helping conservation work reach greater scale through collaboration, science, and local action.

Thank You, Jane. A Tribute to Dr. Jane Goodall

Dr. Jane Goodall inspired Age of Union long before our Founder, Dax Dasilva, first had the privilege of meeting her. From her pioneering chimpanzee research in the early days of her career to her decades of global conservation activism, Dr. Goodall showed the world that protecting the planet begins with a simple but powerful belief: every individual has the ability to make a difference.

In 2023, Dax first traveled with Dr. Goodall deep into the Amazon rainforest to visit Chief Juma Xipaia, founder of the Juma Institute, based in Kaarimã Village within the Indigenous Territory of the Xipaya in Brazil’s Pará state. That journey marked the beginning of a meaningful friendship between Dax and Jane, grounded in their shared commitment to conservation, Indigenous leadership, and humanity’s connection to the natural world.

The visit also led to a partnership between Age of Union, the Jane Goodall Institute, and the Juma Institute to support the protection of the Xipaia territory, the creation of the first Amazonian chapter of Jane’s youth environmental program, Roots & Shoots, and the defense of Indigenous culture and autonomy.

As a tribute to their shared values, Dr. Goodall appointed Dax Dasilva to the Council for Hope of the Jane Goodall Legacy Foundation, a group selected to help carry forward her life’s work.

Dax is also a producer on Just Me, Jane, a new documentary premiering in 2026 dedicated to sharing her message and legacy with future generations.

Her loss is felt deeply at Age of Union and around the world. We honor Dr. Jane Goodall not only as one of the most influential conservation voices of our time, but as a remarkable example of what this work truly requires: courage, persistence, compassion, and an enduring faith in humanity’s ability to choose a better future for all living beings.

Age of Union protects the planet’s threatened species and ecosystems and is committed to supporting global biodiversity and climate goals, including the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework 2030’s Mission:

i · TWO NEW PARTNERSHIPS

Age of Union initiated two new partnerships with Juma Institute in Brazil and Re:wild in Madagascar. Between these projects, we support 806,678 acres of additional habitat protection:

These represent some of the most biodiverse habitat on the planet that is also highly under threat and risk of deforestation and in need of resources and protection.

Across all Age of Union project sites, we continue to invest in local communities, partner networks, and scientific understanding. In 2025, our partners:

Protecting Xipaya Territory

Juma Institute actively protects 442,318 acres of Xipaya Indigenous territory deep in the Amazon rainforest and works to increase Indigenous autonomy, community knowledge sharing, youth engagement and environmental education, and cooperative management of the forest.

In 2025, the Juma Institute built the Ipá-Supá traditional herbal medicine center (in Xipái, this means “tree leaf”) in the Kaarimã Village, Xipaya Territory. This initiative was the dream of Maria Lucia, elder and mother of Juma Xipaia, and was created to house community practices of traditional medicine and host the first Roots & Shoots program in the Amazon, in partnership with the Jane Goodall Institute.

In conjunction with the traditional medicine program, Juma Institute established and dedicated a 5.5 kilometer ecological trail to the late Jane Goodall and utilizes it for intergenerational learning about medicinal plants and local flora.

YANUNI

In 2025, we celebrated the world premiere of YANUNI at the Closing Night Gala of the Tribeca Film Festival in New York City.

Directed by Richard Ladkani and executive produced by our founder, Dax Dasilva, and Leonardo DiCaprio, the documentary follows Chief Juma Xipaia, the first female chief of her people in the Middle Xingu region of the Brazilian Amazon. Her story is one of extraordinary courage: a fight for Indigenous sovereignty, environmental justice, and the protection of ancestral territory against illegal mining, logging, land grabs, and political inaction.

YANUNI is a testament to the power of Indigenous leadership and a reminder that the Amazon's future is inseparable from our collective future. Through Juma's story, the film brings global attention to the people risking their lives to protect one of the planet's most vital ecosystems.

YANUNI went on to receive major recognition across environmental and film festivals, including awards from the Environmental Media Awards, Jackson Wild Media Awards, Los Angeles Brazilian Film Festival, São Paulo International Film Festival, Planet in Focus, Montrose LandxSea Environmental Film Festival, and SCAD Savannah Film Festival. YANUNI was shortlisted for the nomination for Best Documentary Film at the 98th Academy Awards in 2026.

Echoes from Eden

In 2025, Dax Dasilva released Echoes from Eden: A Daring Voyage to Protect Earth's Last Wild Places, a deeply personal account of his journeys into some of the world's most endangered ecosystems.

Co-authored with Eric Hendrikx and featuring a foreword by the late Dr. Jane Goodall, the book brings readers to the frontlines of conservation, from the Amazon and Congo Basin to Haiti, Trinidad, Madagascar, and the Atlantic Ocean. Through encounters with conservation leaders including Dr. Jane Goodall, Chief Juma Xipaia, Paul Rosolie, Captain Paul Watson, Suzan Lakhan-Baptiste, Dr. Kerry Bowman, and others, Echoes from Eden captures both the urgency of biodiversity loss and the hope found in direct action.

Following its release, Echoes from Eden became a platform for public engagement through a sold-out book tour across Los Angeles, Toronto, Montreal, and New York. All proceeds from the book support the Jane Goodall Legacy Foundation, extending Dr. Goodall's lifelong message of hope, service, and responsibility to the Earth.

On the Frontline · Season 2

In 2025, Age of Union launched Season 2 of On the Frontline, a short film series featuring 6 new episodes spotlighting the people protecting threatened ecosystems around the world.

This season featured stories from Age of Union partners including Paul Rosolie of Junglekeepers, whose team works to protect the Peruvian Amazon, and Chanee, founder of Kalaweit, whose work safeguards Indonesia's Bornean rainforest.

Through intimate storytelling, On the Frontline brings audiences closer to the daily realities of conservation: the risks, the resilience, the fieldwork, and the deep commitment behind every protected landscape. Each episode offers a direct window into the work of frontline changemakers and the ecosystems they are fighting to defend.

Together, these stories continue Age of Union's commitment to making conservation visible, personal, and impossible to ignore.

The Black Hole Experience

In 2025, The Black Hole Experience returned for Season 2 with a reimagined interior, expanded narrative, and renewed mission to connect people with nature, the cosmos, and their own capacity for change.

Designed for Age of Union by multidisciplinary artist Kelly Nunes and co-created with Dax Dasilva, BHX is a mobile immersive exhibition housed inside a 53-foot expandable trailer. Its 1,000-square-foot interior invites visitors into a sensory journey inspired by the physics and symbolism of black holes.

Season 2 premiered at SXSW 2025 in Austin, Texas, with a redesigned experience featuring a time-traveling LED tunnel, an Infinity Room with floor-to-ceiling mirrors, and a refined narrative connecting the origins of the universe with the story of life on Earth. The dome experience was also updated in collaboration with Montreal video production studio Silent Partners.

Following its SXSW premiere, BHX continued its 2025 tour with appearances at the Sustainable Finance Summit, the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show, and Toronto's Canadian National Exhibition.
